County Antrim

County Antrim, particularly near Glenavy Village, was home to a number of Oakman families in the 1700s and 1800s.

Hearth Money Rolls of 1669 show the Widow Oakman living in Ballymoneymore Townland - her home containing one hearth and therefore liable to pay a tax.
