Margaret Ann married Ernest Phillip Howes - grandson of Dr John Singleton, founder of the Collingwood Free Medical Dispensary (1869-1932). Ernest Phillip was a timber merchant who died in 1944. Margaret lived on till the age of 93 years, dying from "Pneumonia" on 17 July 1969. Her funeral was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ringwood and she was buried with her husband at Box Hill Cemetery, grave number RC-561.
The death notice which appeared in "The Sun" newspaper following Margaret's death reads:
